ous call for recognition of the im-

A feature of the last days of the
campaign has been the large total
of subscriptions turned in by the
employes of the public utilities com-
ponies.  A total of $85,020 was an-
nounce at the final noon luncheon to
be added to $182,187 already turned
in against a quota of $387,280.  Com-
many subscriptions were included in
this total.
OPERA STAR AIDS.
Mrs. Philip Bergstone who is in
charge of the solicitation there, com-
mandeered the service of Anna
Fitziu, prima donna of the Chicago
Grand Opera Company, and the goden
notes that filled the building with the
strains of "The Star Spangled Ban-
ner" brought a response of treasury
notes that helped swell the lagging
fund.
