Saturday, 25. Warm day again. Finished the upper Bastion today. Late at night boat came with papers of [[unclear]] 21st inst -not much news. Permitted to release Mrs. Moroney Button & Teigler which I did. First want home the others to to Vicksburg. Called on Mrs Grove by her request. Dont seem to know what she wants. Causes a good deal of trouble | |||

Warm | Sunday, 26. Warm forenoon. Afternoon a heavy shower & a cool evening. Rec'd a letter from Sherman. Quite a number of recruits come for the 1st Miss Regiment. No news 2 deserters sent here from Goodrich Landing. Several boats passed during the day |
