Took Supper with Capt [[unclear]] and rode to Genl McPherson by moon light. Found friends there. Col Wilson & other members of the staff Firing not heavy but interesting. | ||

Visited the fort under direction of Capt. Powell of Battery who superintended the construction. Went clear up to the rebel lines. Firing not very heavy. Stood with Genl Ransom | ||
