Dear Madam,
Dear Madam,
      I fear you think you are not to receive the collar for which you left muslin; it would have been done before now; but there has been a great deal of sickness at this place this last spring. I remember you. I was here when you called on us and I shewed you some of my work. There were but five girls in school when you were here as it was about the [elase] of vacation.

Perhaps you would like to know my studies which are reading, writing, spelling, arithmetic, and geography - - - Miss Sawyer our farmer teacher has removed to Hawies. Her heath was not very good and it was thought best for her to go where her work would be lighter. He sometimes write to her and she writes to us.
