Chicago Israelite TO GIVE SOLDIERS' AND SAILORS' BENEFIT PERFORMANCE.

A Yiddish drama produced with all the vigor and with all the emotional art accredited to the Jew, music by well know opera starrs will be a part of the patriotic rally for the benefit of the American Soldiers' and Sailors' Welfare League of the Independent Order of B'nai B'rith at the Haymarket Theater on the eve of Lincoln's birth- day, Monday, February 11th. Mr. Joseph Kessler, leading trage- dian of the Yiddish stage with an all star cast tendered his play house and his company, as well as his own per- sonal services to a Committee of the American Soldiers' and Sailors' Wel- fare League of the I.O.B.B. as his contribution towards the $100,000 fund which the League is endeavoring to raise in Chicago in the interest of and for the comfort of the soldiers and sailors in the middle western camps, cantonments and training stations. "In a Strange World" is the title of the drama wherein Mr. Kessler and Mme. Gudinsky, his leading lady, will show up to great advantage. Dr. Emil G. Hirsch will address the audience. Between the acts, leading opera starts will render vocal selec- tions. The Committee of the American Sol- diers' and Sailors' Welfare League in charge of the performance of this work is directed by Judge Philip Bregstone, chairman, and Mr. Fred. Bernstein, vice chairman. A committee of women has also been organized to assist in making the performance a success. Mrs. Philip Bregstone is chairman of this committee and is assisted by Mrs. Fred Bernstein. Mrs. Joseph Raske, Mrs. A.B. Seelenfreund, Mrs. Samuek Zucker and Mrs. Emil Zolla, who is acting as secretary for the committee. A meeting of the Women's Committee has been called for 2 o'clock on Wednesday afternoon at the Covenant Club to make final arrangements for the performance.

1918 Sentinel 1918 Big Performance to be Held at Haymarket Theatre, Feb.11 On Monday evening, Feb. 11, 1918, at Kess- let's Haymarket Theatre, a benefit perform- will be given, the receipts to swell the fund being raised for the American Soldiers'and Sailors' Welfare League. The entertainment is under the auspices of the B'nai B'rith and Judge Philip Bregstone and Fred Bernstein of the Club are acting as an advisory board to the women's organization. Mrs. Bregstone and Mrs. Bernstein are in actual charge of the work. Chairmen are being appointed for various committees and there promises to be a lively campaign to make the affair a great success. Mr. Joseph Kessler has been good enough to give the use of the playhouse without charge. Kessle's great company of Yiddish players will play one of the great Yiddish dramas. Dr. Emil G. Hirsch will deliver an address and one of the Grand Opera stars will sing Get ready to buy your tickets. They will be on sale at the Club. Help the soldiers and sailors.
