This certificate those Indians had, & I saw it, and took a copy 10 Dec. the of it & I spoke with Cap. Wheeler before his death (2) and he owned next year, it. Besides James Richardson, now Lieut. belongs to the army 1676.

that action & are yet alive owned the same thing, and moreover

both Cap. Wheeler & Lieut. Richardson informed me  unknown word  

2 Indians before named, told Cap. Hutchin. before the Indians [[perfior- ously]] assaulted their company, that they much doubted the fidelity of those Nipmuck Indians & feared they would be treacherous, & earnestly persuaded Cap. Hutch & the next not to adventure to go to them at the swamp; & gave him some demonstrations of it, for there were 2 Eng. There sentey? day before the mischief, & they then observed that which was a ground of their fears. But the Cap. being a man of spirit & intent upon his quest? would proceed, & so lost not only his own life but others also, for tho he was not killed upon the place, yet he died of his wounds soon after (1); but this (1) shows the prudence & fidelity of the Christian Indians; yet notwithstanding all this service they were with others of our Christian Indians through the harsh dealings of [[ ]] Eng. , in a manner constrained for want of shelter, protection & encouragement, to fall off to the enemy at [[ -

them, vir.? Lampson was slain in fight by some scouts of our praying Indians. about Watchuset? & the other, Jo- seph, taken prisoner in [[ ]] Co. & sold for a slave (1) namely 19 August From Brookfield he was carried to Mastborrough, where he died.
