Seizure. The Steamer Alseander owned by the Messrs, | Seizure. The Steamer Alseander owned by the Messrs, Hutchinson & Co., was seized by the Acting Collectoer Mr. G. Forsyth on the 10th inst. The owners however having given the necessary bonds, she was allowed to proceed upon her voyage to Kodiac, The particulars we forbear to dwell upon, for want of space. | ||
Salute. In compliance with an order recieived at Head Quarters a Salute of thirteen guns at sunrise was fired, and one gun each half hour during the day; at Sunset. | Salute. Departure. The Steamer [?Mer?] from Victoria sailed on the 15th inst. intending to call at the[?Stick..?] and Fort Simpson on her way down. The Nor Wester also cleared on this date for Chil bat under the command of Bendell with goods from the well known firm of Storer & Co. intending to trade with the Indians at that place. | |||
