           I have the honor to acknowledge the receipt this morning, of your telegram of to-day, requesting that the confidential Report of Major G. B. Russell, 9" Infy., A. A. Inspector General of this Department, made on the condition of Officers at Fort Sill be forwarded for your Examination.  I Enclose it herewith, as also a confidential Report of Colonel Grierson in case of Major McKibbgin, 10" Cavy., and his report in case of Asst. Surgeon Brown, U.S.A.    These last two has been received since I wrote my letter of the 9th inst., and rather tend - I think -to confirm the justness of Russell's Report.
          Please be good Enough to return me these Reports, when you have finished with them
          Russell has not yet returned, so that I have been unable to talk with him and learn more in detail of the state of affairs at the post.

                                                                                  San Antonio, Tex., April 15, 1872.

MO.MIL.DIV. Colonel James B. Fry, Asst. Adjutant General Mil. Div. of the Mo. Chicago, Ills.

                            A camp of armed Mexicans one hundred strong was broken up and seven Commissioned Officers and thirty seven Privates captured by Capt. Meyers 9th Cavalry at Fort McIntosh on the 6th.  They are Juaristas and most of them probably the same that recently surrendered at Fort Duncan.  Valdez was in command, but not captured.  The Privates were disarmed and paroled - The Officers are just arrived here as prisoners.  What shall be done with them.
