glad. But I am trying to forget home and let it all alone and feel satisfied they are just as well without me as with me. I am thinking now of spending the summer in Dundee. after the Doctor sets me on my feet. For the next months perhaps the next two I expect to be in the city. At present I am making myself at home a No 18 Peoria St West Chicago, with our friends Mr & Mrs Ransom Mr R is a brother of Mrs Dr Pope of Rome NY (Perhaps you have heard of the family) This is one of the pleasant homes of earth. I think one need not care to see a more noble or handsome couple than Mr and Mrs R. They are near sixty, but they are not old. Mother knew Mrs R. before she was married, and though mother has not been in their house more than twice in twenty years they have remained our friends. They are not wealthy yet they are somewhat aristocratic (born and bred in them both) and have always kept up what is called style. We live very
