After working with black and white all day colors seem very brilliant and [singing]. After working with pen and ink [[me?]] day I come down and sat in the dining room. That pot of zinnias of yours was like a drink of rich heady wine. It has been cold and the trees are late [[leaving?]] out. I think that that first delicate green is one of the most beautiful things. I am going to paint a few water colors when that comes. I was suprised to hear of Mimi. I wish her every happiness. Charles. Summer 1932.
