Will back off to wash the floor, where the crippled "monster" of a chest had stood after Bob Smeltzer (a third baby drawers
needed) called for it yesterday - he can do the repairs at his studio - I swept up 3 inches of dust that's been piling up there behind it. The Goldblatt's pieces that come tomorrow are light enough to more a round, & can replace what I've lost. (The lump sum from social Security helped me buy them - at a sale.)
I'm in close touch with Margot Bemen Andreas now, who's changed completely from the hostile & jealous person she'd been, about Roff & me.
I think I told you both father & son Bemens are famous in Chicago, & If I could publish the small book on Nancy & the others, the one on the two artists has a good chance. Margot would let me have photographs of his paintings that I've written about in my ms. ... Seeing Roff's "Self Portrait" & others that Margot searched out & bought, at her apt. about 2 months ago was a shock. I was thrown back to my life with him. What wonderful days those were! - despite all the torments. If only I'd been older, at that time, how differently I could have handled our problems!
