Dear Jack: [Text from back of postcard:] Pictured here is the parlor of General Grant's home just as he left it for the White House. This home built in 1857 by Alexander Jackson, and presented to General Grant by the citizens of Galena in 1865 and later presented to the city by Grant's children in 1904, was made a State Memorial in 1932.
Back in those days there was no St. Joseph's Aspirin - nor AA.
It was tough!
