Friday 26th - Noon 28º N 79º 20! Off Matamilla bank & out of the Strait of Florida - We must have had a 4 o 5 knot current during the night got into the ripple caused by current - there is no danger as was formerly supposed at this point Several vessels [[?]] | |||
Sunday August 4th. Since leaving Galveston we have had little else than Esterly or head winds - now & then for a few hours we would get a [[2 unclear words]] out of the Gulf of Florida - Squalls - rain - Much lightning & Thunder - To day set in fine Westerly S. Westerly |
