Lovely [[mather]], robins and blue birds at 4 a.m.  Grass green and lots of mud. Had a devil of a time getting here but a rousing meeting. Sold literature $3.70 They gave me $5.00 and expenses ($4.39) Don't know whether I have to give $2.00 to State, or not. Yale told me wrong time of leaving and at first thought would not be able to get here at all. [[Beutall?]] nearly tore up the ground. Finally found I could get to [[Streator is crossed out]] La Salle or Rock Island and have 10 minutes to catch train on [[I?}.C. to Minonk, getting there at 7:30 p.m. Got through allright. I wired comrades at Minonk who were sick at my not having come at 5 as promised. Much rejoicing - whole mob at train to
