She wanted to pay me for the fruit; then pay for the room, and finally at the last minute made me take a dollar and use it to see Billy Mitchell: Court Marshall that is to be on on Sunday & Monday. That wasn't "giving me money" which I emphatically rejected - So Florence got ready to drive as she always does mornings. Laura is such a warm-hearted girl and bade me a lovely farewell. Florence is more matter-of-fact, but sincere, and I love both of them. I addressed 4 ordinary post cards for them to take and insisted that they mail them, even if they said only o.k. on there.
