   Knowing the misfortunes of my friend, tho he & his family attempted to keep it from me yet it was impossible.  Since it was proclaimed "from Dan? even to Beer-sheba" of his failure  I was now in most unhappy situation - unwilling any longer to burden my best earthly friend and, at the same time was totally destitute of the means, for support. I was discouraged, disgusted & ready to sink. Now I found that religion I once despised, & attempted to ridicule its precepts, was cordeal to me - yes, I saw now more of its beauty & excellency - and the consolation which it gives to a person in my situation: yea, I readily granted
