We had not gone a mile when torrents of rain fell, with heavy gusts of wind, lightning & thunder & it became almost dark with black clouds. The wind amongst the trees roared like the tempestuous billows dashing on a rocky coast & now & then was heard the crash of a tree falling. This continued about an hour, when the tropical visitation cleared away, the Sun shone out & rain-bow after rain-bow appeared. I must not omit mentioning | ||
