Saturday 19th  Cloudy weather all gone - fine & clear with beautiful breezes - What want the [?] with you for such a climate - 2 PM Came too off Copans.  Capt Wade went ashore - all the [?] gone only a few laders left - they inform us that is [?] reported that 300 of our men had gone thro the [?] (Refuges) a few days since on their way South - 5 PM Made for Black [?] the [?] part of [?] Bay to take on wood - Shoals & sand Banks - but with care there is no danger - keep this land on port going - we draw 5 fts and get along famously - Tide appears to run strong - bark comes to anchor after piloting for a passage in Copans Bay 6 fts.

Sunday 20 - No 1 got made [?] made Block Pt. in an hour - [?] leaving coast - only one family came [?] Sent an Express off to Inform (Refuges) about 15 miles -  from this place we expect to have news [?] of our own party - Left too Wooding - [?] went at it - he loaded it all day - Wood.  The Margaret rather sweet  Lots from strong firewood - The Margaret is of the [?] [?] -Emandgottn flor & Margaret goes fine for [?] The huge seaspray now the [?] was laden with the [?] perfumes of the flowers - Had a shoot in the afternoon - Saw plenty rabbits - Deer abounding themselves - No sound of the army our cording party has scared them - This must be a fine country for game & fish.  The Shores of this Bay much in line be [?] and habitatus - [?] cities to conduct the Game and[?] with the intention & with exporting of its produce.  The Poultry on Shore are large - Mr. Brathoy complains of a partial drought for the last 11 months - Saw some [?] (ivopal)

Monday 21st  Wooding all day - Express returned - brought us no more news than we had before - On the 7th a party of Mexicans came on at Sn Patrius & killed Messrs Carnes, Snodgrass Wells & Willis & some 4 Lipan Indians - the following day they came own - some 40 of them to Corpus Christe distributed [?] proclamation & started off towards the Rio Grand - Why was not something done at Corpus Christe to revenge the deaths of Carnes & hi friends?!
Monday 21st  Wooding [[working?]] all day - Express returned - brought us no more news than we had before - On the 7th a party of Mexicans came on at Sn Patrius & killed Messrs Carnes, Snodgrass Wells & Willis & some 4 Lipan Indians - the following day they came down - some 40 of them to Corpus Christi distributed [[Aristas?]] proclamation & started off towards the Rio Grand - Why was not something done at Corpus Christi to revenge the deaths of Carnes & his friends?!
Tuesday 22nd  8 am got under weigh for Live Oak Pt around noon - got some water - we got the wells dry - [?] Changed [five unclear words]
