1. The duty of children to their parents is to reverence, esteem & love their persons. They should cherish a cordial regard for them & express it by all suitable words & actions. Even tho' their parents may not be so worthy as others, yet are children bound to show them greater respect than others. This obligation is not destroyed, even tho' the parents one or both should be vicious & profane. They are the authors under God of their existance. Had it not been for them, they would not have been. Their training up in life has also been owing to the labor & care of their parents.
