We had splendid animals to ride - the only trouble being that mine - a large sized Indian Pony danced, and fretted to go too fast, and although I had on Buckskin gloves, in my efforts to hold him my ring cut my finger so that it seems as if it would be sore a long time unless the ring comes off, and that can only be done by cutting it. I expect to buy that Pony today (on account of the U.S. of course) and I guess he won't dance quite so hard after I have been over the mountains a week or two.
