On the way home I made seven dollars by buying $40.00 Demand notes for $45.00 legal tender, selling them today for $52.00. That's my first "make." I think it very safe to say that I shall be here or hereabouts for the next three weeks; although the snow has greatly diminished on the range the past week. It is all gone off the East and South side of Longs Peak (except in deep Ravines)- even above the timber line. We are waiting for certain authority from the circumlocution Office at Washington.
