She appears to be a very nice woman, tho' she is living in camp, and she was very glad to see me. Her husband is a son of Ex Gov. Vance of Ohio, used to drink a great deal, but has reformed. She was very glad to get the news I could give her from Aurora. I thought I had a very pleasant ride of four miles, but this morning I found myself quite stiff about my shoulders. In Kansas as well as here, Indian ponies are very plentiful and are worth from about forty to seventy dollars. Here in Denver, the season does not appear to be very far advanced. The few Cottonwood trees are mostly leaved out and look quite green, but there is nothing else except the grass, and that you can hardly tell
