In 1879 Mr. Horace Rublee came to Racine to get the late Robert H Baker to accept the chairmanship you now hold. Mr. Baker refused to accept until he had asked the advice of Mr. Whiteley and secured the promise of his assistance at Milwaukee headquarters.
