As for sale of Books, I intended before I left College, to sell what Books [[cut off]] not want, which were saleable: did sell many: left some, French Books to be disposed of by friends. "Sallustii Opera" might have shared the same fate. "Cambridge Mechanics" I shall want. "Enfield" I considered it a duty to [[cut off]] Old Bowdoin of. Even if poor one should be willing to do a dollar or two for Alma Mater. However, there may be some Books which could be sold for something. I am sure I cannot think the names of half now. What I want now is a Bangor Paper, some means of knowing the Steamboat Arrangements, so as to decide upon my course when I do start. I want to go by R.R. to Portland, so as to stop a few hours at Portsmouth N.H. I was intending to send you XX by this letter, but will not now
