1897 Fri. July 9 hot a.m. cultivated and hoed till 10 then went to see circus parade. p.m. Jno. Jo Eli Ike and I haying for Geo. Jo teaches Ralph Fay 1 hr every eve. Sat 10 fair hot Jno. Jo Eli. Ike and I haying Geo. all day and (except Jo) till 8:30 p.m. haying by moonlight, 2 loads after supper Jo went home to do chores. Sun 11 very hot a.m. great rain at 10:30 and drizzling all rest of day. F SS at 9 a.m. at Baptist Ch. Lake Ave. 11 present. Bed 7:00 Mon 12 cool. drizzling rain after 3 p.m. great rain in eve. a.m. I put on Paris Green. Eli set out cabbage plants.
