Has it is not been a long time in reaching me? It arrived at the Mount Hawkins Post Office however more than a week since. The mails are very slow and very irregular here. It seems that we both thought alike and at once about writing without for an answer. I sent a letter to Dunbarton about a week ago, having become entirely tired of waiting for the slow coming around of the mails. Still it is perhaps uncertain which you will receive first, this or that. I am very sorry to hear of your Mother's sickness, but hope she has ere this fully recovered her health. It must be pleasant for her that you are with her, You must be careful however of your own health, and not get sick too, by over fatigue and care. I shall begin to be more cautions and fearful of sickness now I have had some slight experience of it myself. I believe I wrote to you some of my experience of the Fever & Ague.
