& we are getting along very comfortably: if we had only our own family it would be different but sickness in a house always increases the labor you know. no one could make less work than Nancy does in her circumstances & Naomi's attention to her relieved me from all care.  She fails very gradually ; it is some weeks since she has been able to speak aloud & it fatigues her to whisper more probably from the state of her lungs than mere weakness.  She has to be raised up in bed, then can sit & eat her food without assistance.  She takes no medicine is sustinanced & kept up only by food her appetite is pretty good. but there are but few things she can eat & her food is cooked separately; each time.  We dined at Isaac's Thanksgiving had every thing nice.  Nettie was without help except nurse girl (small) but Emily helped very efficiently as much as she needed;  they had a visitor Mary Bascome from Oberlin, I presume Nettie wrote you of her  I had no help that week but made some mince pies enough to furnish Nettie for the occasion  Last week Nettie had Sewing
