The high rolling prairies of Kansas--hilly prairies--at the head water of great rivers, are laid by some to be by far the healthiest & the most fertile portion of the whole continent, and one day to become a seat of its richest civilization. Shall we go there? By the way, I have just seen in the streets here a Goffstown man, Houston--I believe--just from St Paul's. He is in perfect extacies with Minnesota, cannot find words for his admiration of the climate, the soil, the rolling hills, the crystal lakes, the gushing springs, etc. etc. All are perfect. And then the chance for business. He says money is still from 2 to 5 per cent per month. & City of St Anthony now paying 3 u u u u u. He said one man who got his board for a year past for the interest of $300.00 Had I better raise what money I can at DuQuoin, and go up there & look? | ||
