My dear little boys I suppose you have been wishing for a letter from me but not more than I have wish'd to hear from you. I want to see you all very much there is scarcely an hour passes but I am thinking of you - Do try to be good boys do your duty be kind and love one another - If you have some trials and vexations and if you have to work hard do try with all your might to be cheerful and good natur'd all the while - Being fretful and worryin know makes yourselves and every one about you unhappy and does no good at all. I want you should tell Charles all your little troubles and difficulty all you feel and think he will give you good advice and will indulge your wants as far as is best tis likely - I can hardly enjoy some of the time I am so much afraid that my dear little Eliab will grow a naughty boy by going to school without any Brothers or Sisters with him to give him good advise & no mother at home to ask him all what was done at school and tell him what was right and what was not - but I hope you will all be faithful to one another and watch over and pray for each other that you may be kept in the path of wisdom - and O may our almighty Father and friend keep you from all evil especially from sin the greatest of all evil.
