Have you been made acquainted with your Cousin Mary Williams's children Mary & Lucy Barber who live there on the Street - Cousin Mary was a peculiar fine spun delicate sensitive generous noble hearted pious girl - when quite young She was married to Charles Barber who I should judge from what I have heard was as different from her as light from darkness a hypocritical miserly cold hearted cur. Her sensitive lovely nature sunk under his cruel treatment - she became insane- and died. Her daughter Mary Barber I thought was a very lovely girl I wish you'd become acquainted with her

You will wonder why Ardelia and Mary should both choose such companions I can tell you in a word they were both Rich and your uncle William his sisters and his mother (who was then living) thought that property was every thing all in all
Well- you wont want another lesson upon Genealogy this time I guess.
There have been a good many cases of small pox in Brownville it has been in 3 or 4 different Families here in the village. But Lucy has I see written you all about it.
