28 - So far last night - Sam'l sent away this morning dressed for meeting (prayer for colleges) but soon came home, to prepare to go to Searsport again, having received telegraphic notice to be there immediately. He has been there about three weeks in all already & has got one new vessel to load. O, this lumber - shan't we be glad when it is all disposed of. Mary has left Maria because they did not let her do the cooking, though I think one reason was that her friends feared heretical influence - they are glad to be alone - will do without help for a few weeks. I just put out the washing & ironing. Mallie has written you so lately that I need not say much about them. They - especially Hattie and Eliab - are perfectly bound up in the baby. It is a smart little baby, but not so good looking as Gertie was, I think. Do please write often & oftener. Tell Anna that her request about an image for Libby popped into my head all at once the other day; I am very
