The severe winter weather has been a serious setback for the rebuilding of our city. Happily almost al great buildings, unclear last season, were under roof when the cold weather set in, but the finishing of the insides has been greatly retarded. Our own building is approaching completion, but the new press (costing 21,000 dollars, capable of printing 10,000 sheets on both sides in an hour) has not yet arrived here from Philadelphia and may be delayed for several weeks more. The best we can hope is to move into the building by March 1st. Hence, I shall scarcely have time to begin to feel comfortable in the new quarters, before I shall be obliged to leave for Europe. Of the splendor and grandeur of most of the new buildings on the Southside you could not by stretching your imagination to the utmost, form an idea. I hope that by spring there will be no lack of good stereoscopic views of all the finest buildings of the city and I shall then stuff my trunk with them. Maybe they will make you feel homesick I send my best love to Grandma and friend? Rien Your affectionate father H Raster
