Enclosed you have a copy or a partial copy made so far as you may need of my permit to Alfred Cushman and Joseph Cushman. I wish to call your particular attention to it. In the spring I shall up with [[?]] I shall want you to scale what he has left in the woods. In the mean time you will careful what talk you have with them for I have the belief that they will misrepresent anything + everything you may say. They are on there without any legal authority from [[?]] from their course I have no doubt they mean to act in perfect defiance of all law. So be careful to say nothing and their chance of misrepresentation will be lessened. I send you a paper both of which I want you to read and one of them to hand to Bailey. Compare them and see that they are both alike. Retain one in your ow hands for a copy  over
