"Leaving the Agency at 8 a.m. I proceeded to the vicinity of the Union Depot. Shortly after I met Bill [[Ware?]], my roommate while in St. Joseph. He said, in talking of the strike, that it would be soon settled so far as the engineers and fireman were concerned, but added: "But look out for the switchmen"! I asked him what he meant. He did not reply further than to say: "Well, they'll raise [[things?]] yet! We remained together some time and joined several groups, but any mention as to what further action was intended was avoided, or, at least, was not broached.
