Dr. Hart told me last night that a few days ago a number of drunken Indians took his captain of police and locked him up overnight -- It is evident that they need discipline and certainly I can not or will not permit such lack of respect to the constituted authorities. I, of course, have no authority until the agency is established by act of Congress -- the bill now being in conference with the prospect of it becoming a law any day. | |||
Met a Mr. Gardner (who owns the drug store. jewelry store. and bank, all in one room.) He is an enthusiastic fisherman & hunter and says there is the best of both sports here. | |||
