Saturday July 24th 1875.
Saturday July 24th 1875. John Harvey and Mr Fitch arrived from Boston at eight O.clock last night, both well, a Surgeon saw the foot and said it was serious and needed prompt attention and that he must return to Boston on Monday.  I went after breakfast to see Belle, found them all well.  returned to the Hotel at eleven, Ada Mr Angell Maud and others went bathing and swimming. and enjoyed it.  John Harvey came to dinner with us.  received a letter from Mr Badger, and one for Hunt.  after one O. clock dinner Mr Angell took Mattie Hunt and myself to drive, we called and took Belle with us.  had a pleasant ride, took Dr. Hulce.  about four O. clock Mr Angell Ada James and Tom went to row.  and enjoyed it.  Belle came down in her Carriage at five, and we all went on the Beach and sat in the sand, and baby Harvey was delighted.  then Belle returned to the house and took supper with us, and Mr Angell and I walked home with her, and Mr Lufkin sent the Buggy for us.  Hunt went in the parlour and played [[note left margin:  Pullman babies ]] in the games with the family or boarders I mean.  a dispatch from Chicago say the babies are not well.  Mrs Pullman and twins left for New York and Long branch on the 20th she has gained strength very slowly. [[vertical note left margin: Belle took supper with us -- and Mr Angell took her home in the Buggy we are trying to persuade her to go to Saratoga ]] Sunday July 25th 1875 This is a most beautiful day.  all of us well, after breakfast we took the Carriage and went to the Cottage to see Belle, found her and baby well, she had a dispatch from Mr Harvey, he says John must go to Boston and see Dr Bigelow about his foot. he did not know that Belle had sent him a few days ago there to see Dr Snow a surgeon.  and John has to go again to morrow to Boston to see the doctor with Mr Fitch. the [[unclear]].  Mattie Mr Angell and myself stayed with Belle, untill James came to take her to church.  we walked home.  Ada and Hunt are on the beach picking shells.  Oh' how sad it is to me to think that I will never see my queenly and Christ like child again, Oh' it is so hard to bear, she filled so large a part in my heart, I have lost ten years of my life although I have left so many beautiful worthy loving children and so good a husband, and so much of this worlds goods and wealth, yet I do so keenly feel the abscense of my lost one. I mourn for her day and night, her babies cannot make up the loss -- they rather increase my grief -- when I look at the poor little Innocents.
