It looks like rain. Sister Mrs [[unclear]] and my children out all day distributing party tickets for [[Matties?]] [[unclear]] party on Friday given to any children. I [[unclear]] the tickets received letters from my father who is at New Orleans. Mister [[Powels?]] called to see me. Brother [[unclear]] & Sister Mrs. Badger and I all went to Charles [[unclear]] to tea, spent a pleasant evening - returned at half past eleven.
It looks like rain -- Sister Mrs Shreve and my children out all day -- distributing party tickets -- for Mattie Sheve, s party on Friday -- given to my children -- I wrote the tickets -- received letters from my Father -- who is at New Orleans --  Misses Powels called to see me -- Brother Faulds & Sister -- Mr Badger and I -- all went to Charles Tuckers to tea, spent a pleasant evening --

It is a lovely bright day - Ada not well, with a cold - all the rest well - I am going to my dress maker and then going visiting with Mrs [[unclear]]. Mrs [[unclear]] called to see me - so we did not visit. at seven Mrs Badger & myself went to supper at Mrs [[Pearsons?]] - spent a pleasant evening. Thursday Oct 22nd It is a lovely day. My children all out walking & riding. I went visiting with my husband called on Mrs W. Newcomb, Mrs [[Heywood?]] and Mrs [[unclear]]. Took five O'clock with Mrs A. D. Hunt - after dinner went to Brother [[unclear]]. Mrs Dulaney & Mrs [[unclear]] came to see me also Mr & Mrs Bridgeford all of us there but [[unclear]] - he still has a cold.
It is a lovely bright day -- Ada not well, with cold -- all the rest well -- I am going to my dress maker and then going visiting with Mr Badger -- Mrs Sturgeon called to see me --so we did not visit -- at Seven Mr Badger & myself went to supper at Mr Rawsons -- spent a pleasant evening --
Friday Oct 23rd It has rained most of the day. I went to Sister [[Belle?]], to assist her arrange for the party tonight - given by her daughter [[Mattie Belle?]] to my [[unclear]] - returned to Sister Virginia to dinner, and began to arrange for my children - was disappointed in my childrens new dresses - they [[unclear]] [[tarlatan?]] trimmed with white satin ribbon - at [[nine?]] their dresses came and they put them on. White [[tarlatan?]] trimmed with scarlet [[unclear]]. There was a very large company and every thing [[passed?]] off delightfully - Sister had a fine supper - we returned home at [[unclear]]. Had sister & little baby - for a day or two - Mrs [[unclear]] called.

It is a lovely bright morning - Sister Virginia ordered out her carriage early. Mrs. [[Badger?]], myself, & children all went to say goodbye to Brother Thomas [[unclear]]. We had lunch early and at one took the omnibus and left for Chicago much to our regret. [[little Tom?\\ I know is still at Mothers quite sick with cold - Dr. Lapierre attending him, at three I went to [[unclear]] Belle, and spent the evening
 
Sunday Oct 25th Again the weather is lovely. I went to Christ Church and took all the children with me - Tom a little better. Sister Belle came and took him. We all quite well - Herman Newcomb - Henry & [[unclear]] Tucker, also Abraham Hoffman called to see Belle and Eva. Monday Oct 26th It looks like rain - and cold - Mary Tyler Johnson called to see me. Also [[Mrs Boules, Mrs. May & Lilly?]]
It is a lovely day. my children all out walking & riding -- I went visiting with my husband called on Mrs W. Newcomb -- Mrs Heywood and Mrs L L Shreve. took five O clock with Mrs A. D. Hunt -- after dinner went to Brother Shreve,s horde. Mrs Dulaney [[Dulancy]] & Mrs Downs came to see me also Mrs & Miss Bridgeford all of us well but baby -- he still has a cold.

It has rained most of the day -- I went to Sister Belle,s to assist her arrange for the party to night -- given by her daughter Mattie Belle to nig[[ht?]] Belle & Eva -- returned to Sister Virginia to dinner, and began to arrange for my children -- was disappointed in my childrens new dresses -- they went in Tarletans trimmed with white Satin ribbon -- at nine their dresses came and they put them on -- white tarletans trimmed with Scarlet [[girdlings?]]. there was a very large Company and everything passed off delightfully -Sister had a fine supper -- we returned home at two  Ma had Sisters little baby -- for a day or two -- Mrs Shotwel called --

It is a lovely bright morning -- Sister Virginia ordered out her Carriage early -- and Mr Badger myself & children -- all went to say Good bye to Brother Thomas & Hunts. We had lunch early and at one took the Omnibus -- and left for Chicago much to our regret. little Tom Shreve is still at Mothers quite sick with cold. Dr Casparri attending himat three I went to Sister Belle,s and spent the evening --

Again the weather is lovely -- I went to Christ Church and took all the children with me -- Tom a little better -- Sister Belle came and took him home  we all quite well -- Herman Newcomb -- Henry & L[[?]] Tucker, also Abraham Huffman called to see Belle & Eva --
 
Monday Oct 26th
 
It looks like rain -- and is cold -- Mary Tyler Johnson called to see me -- also Mrs Bowles -- Miss May & Lilly -- Mrs Marshall, Mrs Eaches & Mrs Wright -- at eleven. O clock I went to Brother Shreve,s house with all my family -- to stay two weeks and have taken Sister Belle,s baby to sleep with me  -- it is six weeks old.  it is raised by the bottle.  Mr Hunt returned from Nashville.

This has been a lovely day -- I went visiting -- called on Mrs Morris - Miss Breed -- Mrs Bell -- Mrs Belknap Mrs Merriwether -- Mrs Pindell & Mrs Looney -- Mr Hunt came to see me -- Mr Tucker & Virginia took dinner with us -- Sisters black girl Emma fell down the steps to night -- we all quite well --

Again it is lovely weather. we all well -- I went visiting -- called to see Mrs Robt Bell Miss [[?]] Zahne -- Mrs Downs, Mrs Dulaney [[Dulancy?]] -- Mrs Sturgeon -- returned to dinner -- went to see Ma -- Hattie [[Creed?]] called to see children.
 
Thursday Oct 29th
 
I received thee letters from Mr Badger -- I went again visiting -- called on Mrs Bridgeford -- Miss Chamberlain & Tapp -- Mrs Major Wright  Mrs Robt Hunt Mrs Barret Mrs Benedict -- Mrs Gault, Mrs Tyler -- Mrs [[Rawson?]] -- Miss Thompson -- Misses [[Felter?]] Mrs Floyd Mrs Morton.  Went to Ma,S to a family dinner -- My baby has Croup to night -- I will write Pa [[& my]] Husband.
