Saturday Feb 20th | Saturday Feb 20th 1875 The sun has shone brightly today, and it is not cold. all of us well but Hunt, he has still trouble in his bowels. after dinner I called to see Mrs A.D. Hunt, Mrs Hemming and Mrs Chas Lewis, Mrs Morton Morris called to see me. after supper Mr Hunt called to see us and spent the evening. I received a letter from Eva, they all well. Sunday Feb 21 1875 Again the sun is shining, all of us well. Hunt about the same. James David and myself all went to Christ church. Mr Craik preached. I saw many friends, all compliments me very much about looking young and well. Monday Feb 22 1875. It has turned very warm. People can go without their overcoats here today in Louisville. It is like spring. all of us well. Hunt has his loose bowels yet but it dont make him sick. Mr Perry,s two little girls named Mary and Angie came here today to play and sing for us. Mary is ten years old and Angie 8, they are little wonders. I called to see Mrs R. Hopkins and Mrs Chas Shreve came to see me. Teusday Feb 23rd 1875. It has rained most of the day, and is very warm. all of us well. Hunt much better. Mrs Holden came to see me and wanted me to take her to Chicago to live with me as seamstress. Miss Schroeder called to see me. Mr Badger gone to see Rev Heywood. We spend out day at home with our Parents and relations. Octave here yet. Wednesday Feb 24, 1875 Today has been as warm as summer, too warm for [strikeout: summer]] winter clothes, all of us well. Hunt much better. we went to Dr Hulcee's Office to see his Museum, it is most excellent then I called on Mrs Sallie Pope, Mrs Chas Shreve and started for Mrs Hunts but it rained and we all returned home and had a nice dinner. Mrs Hemming called to see me. Thursday Feb 25 1875 The ground today was covered with snow, and its turned quite cold. such a change from yesterday. I called to see Mrs Ike Caldwell, Mrs Bolling, Mrs Morton Morris, Mrs Sallie Ward Hunt and went to see an old servant of mine Ellen, now Mrs Tom Halleran, all of us well. we received a letter from Belle in Chicago my oldest daughter, she says they are all well. |
