An order came in the [morning?]  11th La Reg. to leave for Transylvania and they left about 11 PM __ All quiet during the day and no news__ Saw Mr. Buckman [unclear] in the morning__ Bro in law to Frank Blair_- Lost $300,000 by the rebellion and not through yet. Called at the Merancy house- Mr. Merancy came in __ released his stock__ Dr. Anders and family still there.

[Negroes?] came to lines and reported that the rebels were in the vicinity of Richmond and threatened an attack Sent out scouts_ saw a few but reports contradictory __Rec'd letter from Sherman__ Lient Thomas came up today __ Dr. Fitch came last night __ No important news from any quarter.
