in the distance before us. but never were we able to see them. for they appeared to us, through the mirage- as there was nothing of the kind here to be seen- as our journeying on, and on, proved,- however' it was beautiful to look at- never have we seen it so splendid before in our travels.- as have said before, we are all most happy in reaching this place- and feel them we have now, reached our journeys end. or nearly so. as the rest to San-Francisco we expect to go by vessel- no more MULE travel for us! say [[unclear]] for the present- distance traveled today, 25 miles.- Monday Sept. 17th. Pleasant. We find Mr Holcomb Ingalsby- Chapman- & Smith, encamped here- these are the ones that left us at Bear River, about six weeks since.- [[unclear]] and the Dr concluded to go over to Town, so they took a bath and fixed up- after dinner. they started for Sacramento- and I remained in camp here alone.- [[Unclear]] returned about 9 Pm alone, having lost the Dr- somewhere on the way- he told me he saw [[unclear]] Bush, and several others he knows, and was pleased with his visits,
