On the Ale of Derby V. Cambden by Hen of Averanches Nescio quod Stygiæ Monstrum conforme paludi, Cervisiam pleriq[ue] vocant; nil spissius illa Dum bibitur, nil clarius est dum mingitur, unde Coustat quod multas fæces in ventre reliquit.
[Of] this strange drinke, so like to Stygian Lake, [which] term it Ale) I wote not what to make; [Fo]lke drink it thicke, and pipe it passing thin, Much dregges therefore must needs remaine within.
