wrong of course we cannot change our conduct- A telegram announces the death, this morning of Mrs Porter. Jane is very sad and thinks she will go tomorrow by the cars to attend the funeral in company of Ellen Baird, Mary Acheson & Bell Todd- Dr. Hanna was buried yesterday - he was gentle, kind and beloved by his family and people- Mrs Hanna seems to be a sincere mourner- Mrs Harding Julius and some others are making an effort to raise a bounty fund and find it rather difficult among the rich- and the poor have not the therewith- but I believe they expect to get it somehow. Our regiments are all re-enlisting - and the recruiting offices are doing something - Frank had received the robe you sent him - Much love to you all dear Johnny - Kiss those darling children for me Julius' little Rose is the sweetest little thing we love her already and feel that she is our own.
