Quite obviously a protective pattern, even without reading the translator notes. Double crosses sprouting from the rune for protection, were signs for the 4 elements before Christianity. Attached to the crossbars are crescent moons. Around the symbol are boxes to enclose it like barriers or wards. It's a book or charms, so it is meant to teach. | |||
