Sunday. _
Bell wounded an antilope, saw many of those truly beautiful
animals, saw thousands of Buffalo. The [[warning?]] of these

from the throat. Mr C Killed 2 cows. Sprague Killed 2 Birds
and 2 sketches of them as they laid dead on the ground.
The Men Killed 1 Cow, but her Bull would not leave
her although shot through the body 4 times. Stopped
for wind all day; I suffered greatly from my fall.
21st Monday. _

for wind. Went hunting Elks. Mr C Killed a Deer and he
and Squire brought the meat on their backs. I saw nothing
but heard four shots running, which I thought were from
Harris. I ran for upward of a mile following the whole
distance but nothing of [[him?]]. Saw 3 Men who hunted for
[[him?]] but brought no intelligence. The firing was at an Elk
which was [[wiped?]]. Bell shot a female and brought
a portion of the meat. Mr C. Squire & I walked to the
little [[Mip?]], and I shot the 4th Bull I have Killed
this trip. We crossed the Stream by wading and brought
the "Nerf" saw from [[Dneks?]]. We started in the
afternoon and landed below the little [[Miparie?]]
