My friend and I took a long drive in the afternoon about ten miles I think and in the evening she had a little company which she invited on my account so that taking it all together I could not very well help having a pleasant time. The next morning I went to Utica accompanied by my friend who stayed until noon with me then she returned home having

along side I will send my "caste" in my next letter I think. If I don't forget it.
