My Dearest Jennie,
Your kind letter arrived in due season and I hasten to reply. Yes our dear good kind and genial brother is no more one of us here but has gone where we hope we may sooner or later go to meet him. Even now I do not dare allow myself to realize that he no more will come to us - his going away is unexpected - apparently is premature! Can it be he now will return! But a kind Father knew best when to take him, we must bow our heads - we must try to say "Thy will be done"
