My dear Miss Everett.
  It rained so hard this morning that I saw there was no prospect of getting a letter to you to-day so I have contrary to my intentions been obliged to make you wait until Monday.
 
  I arrived in Utica safely with my bundles and Mr. Howell kindly helped me to Mrs. Thompsons. Found them well and looking for me but would not have been disappointed had I been a day later. Went down town shopping in the afternoon- Purchased a new dress which since coming home found to be about half cotton whereas it should have been
