Saturday 11 - Before Sun rise started & by a nail got into the Main Rd & 5 miles brought us to Mr Senator Grimes - 16 miles or half way to Montgomery - All this part of the Country pretty thickly settled and appears a good farming country - last Summer some sickness in the shape of chills & fevers, from probably the effluvia of the Brazos bottom - Family & the Woody |
