On Saturday afternoon, I paid Mr and Mrs. Millard a visit. They had just come down from the mountains with the Gov. The first thing was the production of the two boxes of "Specimens" - some of them beautiful. They please me much better than "shells" I like them both very much. He is an excellent preacher. She invited me to tea; but I declined. Then sometime next week - she said. Alas I shall not have time before I go. I had another invitation today to the Surveyor Generals house to play "Whist," but am engaged this evening at The League - if you must know - which I started here on Saturday Evening.
