Your letter was a surprise and a great pleasure. I was very glad indeed to hear from you and to know that you remember our starting down the river that May morning so long ago. I could never forget that breakfast at your house - the subsequent breakfasts were in such contrast to that - and I remember I upset my coffee all over your tablecloth!
